Not sure exactly. It's a prototype this guy is working on.

Yeah... Can he open the hatch with the tent set up?

I applaud the ingenuity, you’re never wrong for trying, but it looks too high. What’s wrong with a good quality swing-out that he’s trying to solve?

I’m warming to them. 99-04 rigs all seem to end up with engine issues/failures though. 4.0 and 4.7 both.

It's a total crap shoot with these. Some are perfectly reliable, some never stop having issues. I can't recall the year by year breakdown of it but I know there were casting issues in the head or the block on the 4.0L. I have the 4.7L HO and it's been a great car. More reliable than any of my 4Runners. Granted I take much better care of the Jeep than I ever did the Toyotas.

Im not sure about with the tent set up. Basically they use some heavy duty struts and it’s perfectly fine for everyday use. This is an Armenian dude in California, the company is HK Off-road. Seems like they go for an OEM look with a lot of their stuff. A swing out would require either a new bumper or a hitch mounted set up.

Start around the 4 minute mark.

Thanks for the follow-up.
